Tips on Leg Workouts That Won’t Hurt Running Routine? | Ask A Trainer | LA Fitness


Hi, and welcome back to another episode of
Ask A Trainer. Today I’m here with Pro Results® trainer,
Kayla. How are you doing Kayla? I’m doing pretty well, thanks. Great! Well, today’s question comes from Sammy
G. Sammy says, “I was wondering if you could give me some tips on leg workouts that won’t
hurt my running routine?” So, it’s definitely important for any program
to include some type of strength training. So, I would recommend starting with some explosive
movements, something that’s going to build your power, build your speed. Things like jump squats, lunges, even some
box jumps, if you’re comfortable with that kind of thing. Squats, deadlifts, things like that, that
are a little bit more dynamic are important. But, it’s important to not overload the
weight or try to push yourself too hard, that’s going to risk injury or anything like that,
but you definitely want to build some strength, build some muscles in your legs to help long-term
