Most people are really surprised when I tell
them that I am 81 years of age. And I say why do you say that? Down and hold. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I want all of my people that I train to love
themselves, to love their bodies. I first started exercising at age 56. We don’t
want, you now, the big muscles. All I want is just that right there. I met Ernestine about 26 years ago. She came to me her and her sister, they wanted me to
help train them to get them into exercise. She wanted to look like me, now she looks
better than me. We started doing aerobics first, then from
aerobics we started lifting weights It took her 7 months to get ready for her
first show. She just wanted to fulfil her dream but it changed her life.
I did this bodybuilding show, I came in first place. We got a call from the Guinness Book
of World Records stating that they thought that I was the oldest female competitive bodybuilder
in the world. Last stretch on your knees.
I love to do motivational speaking on exercise. I also teach many, many classes and I meet
so many wonderful people doing this particular thing. She absolutely inspires me. Mainly because her journey with fitness started so late in
life. I’ll be 46 this Thursday and I’m like you’ve got to be kidding me, I have
the body that wanted 20 years ago. Miss Ernestine is my mentor, I think that
she’s helped to save to life. I’m going to do this until my day is done.
So I’m not thinking of retiring any time soon. As long as I can move my arms, move
my feet, have presence of mind, I will continue this until my last breath is taken.
