Physical activity to prevent chronic disease

Physical activity to prevent chronic disease

Being physically active can reduce your risk
of chronic disease and contribute to overall wellbeing. Adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate-to-intense
physical activity every week, and kids aged 5-17 need at least 60 minutes of
physical activity every day. If you’re not exercising regularly, you’re
at an increased risk of heart disease and other chronic diseses. Take a step in the right direction by adding
physical activity to your daily lifestyle. Start slowly, and build up. It can include everyday things like walking
the dog, playing tag, building a snowman, tobogganing, and even household chores. Visit Canada.ca for more tips. Let’s get active Canada, for your heart!
