Is It Healthy to Lose 15 Pounds in One Month? | Ask A Trainer | LA Fitness

♪♪♪ Hi and welcome back to another episode of Ask a Trainer, I’m your host Candice Currie
joined here today with Pro Results® Trainer, Morgan Connors. Morgan, I’ve got another question for you and today it comes to us from Catherine W. Catherine asks is it healthy to lose 15 lbs. in a month? Initially we would say that if it’s in the beginning of your fitness program
coming close to 15 pounds a month is usually typical Especially if we’ve got a good diet and exercise program all kind of starting,
just because we’re going to lose that initial water weight. That’s kind of a topic that a lot of people don’t address
when they think about fitness and dieting. So, we drop that water weight. The standard that we really want people to focus on is that
1-2 pounds a week on average. So that’s when we start kind of really structuring our diet and fitness program around that structure.
However, one of the things that we want to address in this situation is women. We’re notorious for watching the scale, every other day, every morning when we wake up,
and we can have a lot of fluctuations based off of our cycle because we’re going to retain that water. So dropping it at the end of the cycle you may see
you’ve lost a little more than that 1-2 pounds that week and get a little worried but it’s kind of nothing to be kind of worried about, as long as we’re staying on that
