You know what else helps you lose weight? Getting proper sleep.

I was trying to fix my body after graduation. Started by fixing sleep patterns–lost 5lbs that week. Then cutting fast food–lost about 7lbs after a couple weeks. Started walking in the evenings, not a lot, 1-1.5 miles. Lost 3lbs after a few more weeks. It was slow but steady. No extreme diet or hard exercise, but easy to maintain. Going on 8 months now 🙂

Restricting food that much doesn’t seem healthy. For anyone looking for great (and scientifically backed) advice about exercise and food, and for anyone recovering from an eating disorder, I would highly recommend checking out Natacha Oceane’s channel!

I just wrote a really elaborate comment and Youtube crashed and it's gone, so take this tl;dr version: use 8fit. All the basic options are free, and if you want a meal plan (with many different dietary options, including vegan) and other advanced options it's €5/month. So not completely free, but the work outs are available for free.

They took an already small woman and made her smaller… 😑 lmao pretty sure simply cutting out the salt got her tummy to shrink.

My thing is through out the whole workout when I’m doing it I’m just telling myself how much I hate life and workout and when I finish I’m so happy.

I’ve done Kayla’s guide a couple times. I use it more as a guide when I’m losing motivation to work out and I can’t be bothered to make a gym plan, it’s nice that there’s a months worth of workout scheduling already done for me. It’s not realistic in the long term though. It’s entirely pylometric based and the calories she recommends to eat is insanely low. If I do continue her workouts when I get my motivation back, I’ll do one or two a week and also incorporate weight training. And make sure you eat enough!

Ladies please do your research beforehand. There are several sources that disagrees with this program. Mainly due to the amount of food intake. Some claim you’re practically starving yourself when using her meal plan. If it works for you than kudos but don’t just jump In to a program before getting the pros and cons.

Oh man 6:58 KEEP YOUT BACK STRAIGHT! If you don’t it puts too much strain on your lower back and will probably end up hurting you instead of stretching you out.

Taking pills is more expensive than 30 mins working with a fitness app. Don’t regret it. Life is short!

I love that this was something that you did "on your own"! As opposed to the personal trainer videos that I feel like are more common, this really seems like something I could do myself! It's very motivating!

I'd recommend Natacha Oceane's workout programme, she's really chill about food intake and does intuitive eating and incorporates a lot of variety in her workouts(HIIT, functional and resistance)

Really like this video but the unnecessary jumpy camera along the same shot is really distracting and makes my eyes go weird.

I would give this a try, but I live on the upper floor of my apartment complex. I would hate to annoy the crap out of my neighbors with any jumping. XD

I don't like kayla's style. She's about losing weight, I prefer weights cause they shape your body. She's just stick-like and too thin. But i can see why she's popular, some people need that.

I think Farrah is a wrong person to recommend against going to the gym, she personally would definitely benefit from having a personal trainer… One of her shoulders is noticeably much higher than the other in both before and after photos, I suspect that exercising with this posture in best case is going to make her shoulders more uneven, and in worst case can be outright dangerous and damaging for her back.

Everyone complaining they didn't disclose the price – clearly you managed to find it on your own so guess it wasn't a big deal they didn't mention it after all!
$120 a YEAR for a fitness program is a steal. That's $10 a month. That's skipping 2 cups of Starbucks coffee every month and it's paid for.
My local gym costs $130 a MONTH, I'd be raving if I found a program I loved and that worked for $120 a year!

I literally don’t think stretching before workout has advantage because I workout without it I am fine ,obviously starting to workout will hurt even if it is with stretching because your muscles are getting introduced to new type of movement .

Kayla Itsines program basically glorifies eating disorders. Her program is based off of basically eating nothing and high intensity workouts. That is not a safe or sustainable lifestyle.

I'd like to point out black has been known to make people look slimmer, 8:40 – she's wearing now a black sports bra and black tennis shoes vs no shoes. This is important because standing flat footed vs shoes that fit properly can effect posture – which in turn can make you look thinner. 8:47, her feet are apart and not together. I'm not trying to discredit any of the work she did but take everything with a grain of salt. It's easy to fake a before and after photo with this miniscule of a change. There seems to be almost a sponsor ship going on, so take it with a grain of salt. A healthy low sodium, low added sugar diet, and exercise has always been shown it can bring many benefits.

    Watch the jumpcuts, really annoying.

I feel like a 30 minute workout or stretch a day gets me much further than a 1 hour workout or stretch once a week. For example, doing a forward fold for 5 minutes every day made me way more flexible than doing one hour of yoga once a week. Though the full hour session obviously has other benefits, especially mentally. Just saying, if you don't have a lot of time: 5 minutes a day can make a difference!

I've tried the BBG. Here's what I think. As a way to get into working out, it's great. If you use it as a way to get started it really does work. I don't recommend the diet, it's so little amount and you end up hungry all day. And it gets tiring to eat. The workouts are good, but get bored fast. If you follow everything as Kayla intends you to, it's not 27 min. It's much more. It's investing a lot of time. You do see results fairly quickly. I would recommend using it as an inspiration, and add on different workouts from other people that are a bit more effective and fun. Personally I see that her leg day is boring and doesn't do much. Swap that out for another leg day routine and you're good to go.
