How To: Incline Chest Press (Hammer Strength)

What’s going on guys? We’re at the Hammer Strength machine I’m going to show you how to do an incline chest press The first thing you want to do is you want to put your weights on and next thing you do is you want to adjust Your seat you want to adjust your seat so that when you sit down You put your hands in the middle of the handles they’re about at nipple height, okay? Keep your head back put your feet firm on the ground And what you’re going to do is breathe out as you extend and also notice the position of my elbows, okay? They’re not like this They’re down like this because the machine is going up at an incline So if the machines going like this, I don’t want my arm like that trying to push it forward I want to push it with the machine okay? So elbows down wrist straight neutral spine keep your core tight breathe out as you go up just like this Keep your elbows pointing down come back 90 degrees and Then push straight up breathe out as you go up come back breathe in come forward breathe out and that’s how you use the hammer strength incline press machine for more great information feel free to subscribe to my videos and as always More good stuff coming soon. Later guys

@matklstrength I know what your saying and you definitively have a valid point. if i saw someone training without a shirt i would think there a douche, but on the other hand Im pretty sure he worked something out with the manager to let him train when the gym is closed after watching his videos he seems like a decent guy to me 🙂

@Jimboticon Always try to avoid machines when possible. Go for the Bench because it is a 'free' weight, meaning that you are the only thing affecting where the weight moves. Any free weight exercise will work more of your body than a machine will because of any number of supporting muscles used to keep the free weight stable.

Also with the bench press, you will have a removable bar that you can use for other exercises like squats, curls, push press etc.

this is more of a challenge then the flat bed bench press cause you are using single arms instead of both arms at the same time on a bar

I'm sure it was for you, but don't feel bad! We all start somewhere, and for some, it is heavier. One thing I recommend (though I am no expert) is wait until your flat bench is fairly heavy (at least 90 lbs or higher), then you can do these less important exercises. You will be able to do more that way.

Of course he is going to have his shirt off. It allows you to visualize the technique better and shows the effects of his demonstrations on his muscles.

it's a instructional video, about muscles? With shirt off you can see wich muscles are active and wich are not, ITS FOR INSTRUCTIONAL PURPOSES, he would be dumb if he did use a shirt.

One thing that I don't understand is how much weight is on the machine without any plates? I have a general idea of what I can do, but I want to know whether is is 10 pounds, 35 pounds or 45 pounds unloaded, so I know what to put on.

Okay cool, thanks. I used it – it's pretty fun. It might just be me, but I found myself using a lot LESS weight than when I do the Barbell Incline Press (It ended up being 40 pounds, which is over half what I Barbell Incline Press). Is that normal?

12lbs in 3 weeks? That's 4lbs per week. What steroids do you use? The maximum "natural" gain is 0.5lbs per week . You're gaining 8x more, thus, steroids. ..l..

I tried this incline chest press today… it didn't feel like a machine that would give me good results. The bench press and cables = have to be the only two good ones.

Great instructional video. When you push out fully if you flex your chest will cause results faster "faster as in over a shorter period of time for the inpatient people". Thumbs up on this though =D

It also helps seeing how the muscles work and the position of the arms etc. without anything blocking the sight.

i hate to be the only one to say it but the placement of your head and or whole upper body was off to your right majorly .. u want symetry when lifting and showing people that the position of your head and or upperbody if of neglect of importance makes your video lacking at best.

Yea, I really don't care what the person in the video looks like. I'm just looking for as vast a pool of advice and resources as I can acquire. Perhaps some people come here for the people, not the advice. To each their own I guess.

Tried to use this machine last night. It seemed to work my Tris and shoulders out more than my chest. Hence me looking at a how-to video. Not sure about your guys weight issues. I ended up loading this with about the same amount of weight as I would a flat bench.

You should place the seat lower to focus on your upper chest. The way you do it is not wrong, but it doesn't target the upper portion of your chest completely. It's more like flat bench (even though you explained nicely the elbow positioning). So try to put the seat lower so that your hand are level with your shoulders and take a wide grip so you don't feel it as much in your triceps.

PS: this machine could be an excellent exercise for upper chest as long as you are doing the right way. If you do it the wrong way you will lift more but you will mimic another exercise

Great video, I do not know where I was at body fat percentage wise 5 months ago ….? but I know that 5 months ago, 6 months soon, I was at 269 pounds. Following a keto lifestyle, for the last 6 months, I am now at 214 pounds. I did a simple fat percentage scan and my results were 26% fat (54 pounds of fat) with 160 pounds of lean mass. I am still a little fat, but I am happy that I was last year. I also workout 5 days a week, 3 days of heavy weights and 2 days of cardio (stairmaster: HIIT). This video is a great reference, I do not mind, myself, being at 15% body fat.

Excellent set of weights!>>>ur2.pl/1182 I start with these for motivation, then I get on my BOWFLEX M3 MAX TRAINER! I can do cardio and strength in the same workout! I do a set of reps for three different muscles, then after I do a set for each of those muscles, I FEEL ENERGIZED TO HOP ON MY ELLIPTICAL (the M3) FOR 20 MINUTES, then I get off and do 2 more sets for those three different muscle groups, and I'm done!! Excellent equipment, just gotta keep doing it at least 5 times a week!
