How to Do the Wood Chop Exercise | Sleek/Strong With Rachel Cosgrove


This is Rachel Cosgrove for Sleek/Strong.
Today, we’re going to do the Wood Chop. Now there’s a new solution to build the abs you
want, and the Wood Chop is part of the equation. Now, the Wood Chop is just like sounds. You’re
going to be doing a wood chopping motion from one side to the other. Now, this exercise
is going to strengthen, tone and tighten your abs. You’re going to go ahead and have a high
pulley, grabbing with the outside hand first. And pull that pulley just off, so the weight
is just off the load. Take those feet shoulder-width apart, core is nice and tight, arms are straight.
Now, your arms are going to stay on your hands, as you preform that wood chopping motion.
You’re going to go ahead and bring that weight across to the opposite knee, and then slowly
bring it back and keep that under control. Now, as you’re performing this motion, you’re
switching your weight from one foot to the other. And it will seem like you’re smooshing
a bug on each side, shifting your weight, one side to the other. Perform 10 repetitions
and really keeping those eyes going with the body. Now, as you start to add this exercise
to your routine, you’re going to find that your abs are going to show up faster than

    I like your video but you said "feet shoulder width apart" and that's not supposed to be the case for this exercise. Even in your video your feet are almost twice as wide as your shoulders.

    is there really a point to swing down that far. contraction is at its peak way before that.
