How Much Weight Should I Be Lifting While Pregnant? | Ask A Trainer | LA Fitness

joined here today with Pro Results® Trainer, Morgan Connors. How are you doing? I’m hanging in there, how about yourself? I’m doing great, and I’ve got another question for you. Oh, Fantastic! This question comes to us from Nikia. She said she’s four months pregnant
and she wants to know what’s the most weight she should be lifting? So, my advice is definitely, definitely, definitely, consult with a doctor first.
It’s going to be the most important thing for a healthy and full-term pregnancy especially when you’re overseeing a fitness program. You want to keep that doctor with you
every step of the way and really communicate what you’re doing in the gym and kind of how that’s coordinating with the pregnancy as well. And then the second thing is always, always, get a trainer. If you’re going to be continuing
a fitness program you know, definitely don’t start anything new after you become pregnant, but definitely consider
continuing on in a fitness program once you are. And find that trainer who’s going to be comfortable with working you on that,
and also with working with your doctor and really having that open communication with all the professionals.
